Throwback Thursday Tidbit

Happy Thursday everyone! Every Thursday we sit set out to share a tidbit of real estate history with you. Today’s Throwback Thursday Tidbit:

1904: The original concept of the game Monopoly was patented. Originally called The Landlord’s Game, it was created to show the economic consequences of Ricardo’s Law of Economic Rent and the Georgist concepts of economic privilege and land value taxation. The game has undergone a number of changes over the years to become what we play today, but the heart of the game is still there.
