Today’s Wellness Wednesday focus: hydration

We know you’ve heard the instructions to drink eight glasses of water a day, but many people don’t get nearly that much. And, although the “eight glasses a day” is really just a suggestion, drinking water is still very important. Here are just a few of the benefits of drinking water throughout the day:

  • Your body is about 60% water, so drinking water helps maintain your fluid balance.
  • Drinking water hydrates your muscles; up your water intake and you’ll also up your endurance at the gym.
  • Even mild dehydration can lead to reductions in memory and brain performance. Be your best self throughout the day by drinking water!
  • Drinking water is a natural headache remedy. Being adequately hydrated can reduce and prevent headaches.


Increase your daily water in-take by carrying a water bottle around with you, adding fruit for some interesting taste, and trading your soda at lunch for a bottle of water.
